Welcome to BSA Troop 491. We are chartered by St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church and serve the community of Metairie, Louisiana. Since the original charter in 1968 fifty-seven members have earned the Eagle rank. The Troop meets in Vosbien Hall at 7:30 PM every Wednesday.

Troop 491 is a youth run organization. Developing self-confidance, self-reliance, and leadership are key goals of our program. We place emphasis on growth of character, citizenship, and acceptance of responsibility according to the principles of Scouting as stated in the Scout Oath and Law.

We have an active outdoors program including backpacking, whitewater rafting, climbing and scuba. Camping activities are scheduled every month.
