Advancement
The Troop offers many opportunities for advancement during the year. We have a goal of having all new scouts achieve the rank of First Class within their first year in the Troop. However this is just a goal and not a requirement. Rank advancement is always go-at-your-own-pace and a scout will only advance when he has completed the requirements and is ready to assume the greater responsibility that comes with a higher rank.
Opportunities for completing skill requirements can generally be met during any outdoor activity or Troop meeting. Opportunities for earning merit badges are provided during Summer Camp, Winter Camp, and the District Merit Badge weekend. Counselors are also available for merit badge work at any time.
Scouts First Class and above will hold leadership positions. A scout ready to begin the Life to Eagle process should meet with the Advancement Chairman to discuss the requirements and the process of performing an Eagle project.
